Cornucopia

I have been pretty busy the last couple weeks and on top of that, not much in the writing mood, thus I have not been blogging much. The ideas I do have brewing are more like articles than blog posts and will require some time to put together. In the meantime, though, here's a cornucopia of little things that I think are nifty.

Have you taken the Drawing Personality Test? You draw a basic landscape, then it's analyzed to give you a personality profile. I thought it was interesting and pretty accurate, actually:

You tend to pursue many different activities simultaneously. When misfortune does happen, it doesn't actually dishearten you all that much. You are a direct and forthright person. You like to get to the core of the issue right away, with few signs of hesitation. You like following the rules and being objective. You are precise and meticulous, and like to evaluate decisions before making them. You have a sunny, cheerful disposition.

I finished my new myspace layout so it now matches this site. Move your mouse over the friend names for a pop-out of their picture. CSS is awesome.

“I wanna hang a map of the world in my house. Then I'm gonna put pins into all the locations that I've traveled to. But first, I'm gonna have to travel to the top two corners of the map so it won't fall down.” – Mitch Hedberg (via Quote of the Day RSS feed)

I came across the Chaotic Christians podcast, which started recently and is recorded nearby, in Greenwood. I listened to a couple episodes and left a comment on their blog, which they read on the next episode. Funny thing, they said “This person didn't leave their real name, just a username, but Gee Regor said...” That's not uncommon of course, given how I sign my name. I informed them in a follow-up comment that it is indeed my name and that they could pronounce it either way. It's a decent podcast and is getting better as they settle into it, so check it out.

Saw STATE for the first time on Saturday. Pretty awesome rock with an energetic performance. Check them out.

I just remembered an idea I had: I would like to get some fun “testimonials” for the site. I have one already, from a girlSPACEfriend years ago, “I don't like guys. They're pretty much dumb. You can be an exception.” Clever, funny, serious, whatever – what's your testimonial of gRegorLove / gRegorLove.com?

“I saw a sign on this door that said 'Exit only'. So I entered it and went up to the guy working there and I was like 'I have some good news. You have severely underestimated this door over here. By like a hundred percent, man.' ” – Demetri Martin

This guy is definitely one of the funnier comedians I have seen in a while; check out his special on YouTube: Part I, II, III, IV, V (about 40 minutes total).

Demitri Martin is awesome. Rachel and I saw him in Chicago last winter when he was recording his CD, so much goodness... I hadn't seen this special yet though, awesome!

No, in Maine I swim, run and hike in the summertime, ice skate and sled in the wintertime. I think there's just a general lack of outdoor activities available in Indianapolis.
