To the American citizen readers out there (which I presume most of my readers are, but just to clarify).. have you ever wondered about income tax? I mean, really, think about it. Why are we taxed on the money we make from working, making a living? Is it a government granted privilege to work and make a living in the United States, therefore they have the right to tax us? Doesn't quite add up, to me. I've been thinking a lot about this topic lately, and doing a lot of research on the Constitution and US Code, especially in regards to income tax, social security, etc. You'd be pretty surprised about what you might find. The simplest example I can give you for this is:

Is it mandatory for a U.S. citizen to obtain a Social Security Number (SSN) in order to work in the United States, or just for the sake of having one?

What's your answer? If you answered “yes”, you're wrong. No law requires a U.S. citizen to obtain a SSN. If it were mandatory, there wouldn't be an application for it, would there? Anyway, that's just one small example. I'll give you more info as time goes along and as I piece it all together.

In the meantime, I've written my first letter(s) to the editor of some local newspapers! Here ya go:

Dear Editor,

I am writing in attempt to draw your attention to a very important matter regarding income tax. The We the People Foundation for Constitutional Education (We the People) has been pursuing a forum with the appropriate federal government officials to answer the people's questions regarding the fraudulent origin of the IRS and the unlawful operations of the income tax system.

On July 20, 2001 U.S. Assistant Attorney General Dan Bryant and Congressman Roscoe Bartlett (MD) signed an agreement to hold said forum. Charles Rossotti, IRS Commissioner, also committed for IRS representatives to participate. The forum was scheduled for February 27 & 28, 2002. Now, however, both the DOJ and the IRS have broken their commitment and are not participating in the forum. The hearing will still proceed as scheduled. We the People has publicly demanded that the DOJ and IRS attend the forum and answer the People's proper Petition for Redress of Grievances. Such a petition is a right under the First Amendment, and the right to a formal response is inherent in that right.

The fact that the DOJ and IRS have broken their commitment and are trying to back out of this, is simply unacceptable. Citizens should not sit idly by while government officials refuse to fulfill their Constitutional obligations. An initial set of 299 questions has been sent to the DOJ and IRS. I encourage every citizen to take action by educating themselves on this issue and contacting the DOJ, IRS, and their representatives in Congress.
