Juncture
Immediately after finishing NaBloPoMo, I discovered Reverb10, a series of writing prompts for December.
Reverb 10 is an annual event and online initiative to reflect on your year and manifest what’s next. Use the end of your year as an opportunity to reflect on what's happened, and to send out reverberations for the year ahead.
I am interested, but am not going to commit to another 31 posts before the end of the year. However, I will try to write about several of them.
Day 1 — One Word. Encapsulate the year 2010 in one word. Explain why you're choosing that word. Now, imagine it's one year from today, what would you like the word to be that captures 2011 for you? (Author: Gwen Bell)
I'm not sure whether I should use dark, light, or maybe just gray to capture them both. A fair bit of 2009 was darkness for me and that continued / worsened into the first half of 2010. I came out of that darkness to find some peace and hope, so the second half of the year has been notably brighter. I still have my moments, like I wrote in November, but I am hopeful there is still forward motion overall. Perhaps juncture would be the best word.
I have had this “new chapter” feeling in my life lately, so I hope that different captures 2011.
