100 Words on Discovery vs Creation

The improv scene was two people going to a movie. We had to convey our relationship without talking. These type of exercises make me the most nervous, so I waited to go last. I tried to focus on the idea of discovery instead of creation. You don’t have to create an elaborate premise, just make a single choice and then discover the details as you go. It went a lot better than I expected. Afterwards our teacher gave me some encouraging words. She said she really felt the connection between our characters and that I didn’t seem nervous at all.
