I want to urge the FDA VRBPAC committee to continue to approve and recommend COVID vaccines for all age groups. Restricting the vaccine approval to people in certain age groups or with certain conditions will endanger people’s health and undermine public confidence in vaccines.

Adverse effects from COVID infection can impact anyone, regardless of their age or their perceived healthiness. Millions experience post-viral illness like Long COVID and each infection increases that risk. Everyone deserves to have access to vaccines as part of a multilayered approach to protecting themselves and their community.

Restricting which groups the vaccine will be approved for only puts more barriers to vaccine uptake, especially for the most vulnerable. The committee must consider equitable and affordable access to vaccines in these decisions.
