The Last is the Most Important
Way back in 2003 I wrote a post of 60 things to do before I turn 60. It's interesting to look back on. Some of my focus has changed, and some things on it were just plain silly. Well, I'm still silly . . . just in different ways.
I probably won't get 60 things written on this list tonight. I'm not sure if that's depressing or not, but here is an updated and more serious list.
In no particular order:
- Visit all 50 states
- Visit Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and elsewhere
- Go surfing
- Go ice-skating
- Go skydiving
- Get married
- Be in a movie
- Create a photo log for a year — a picture every day
- Make some electronic music
- Keep making people laugh
- Meet Conan O'Brien and shake his hand
- Run in a marathon
- Write a book
- Look up my biological father and say “hi”
- Keep updating this list
- Maintain hope and inspire hope in others

That seems like a pretty good list. Could we call that a bucket list of sorts? The older I get the more I want to sit down and start compiling a bucket list. I wouldn't even know where to start. I am trying to scratch items off my list every single day. I encourage you to quit making excuses (and I am not saying you are) and begin doing these things on your list. I would be more than happy to visit Japan with you, go surfing with you in the Pacific, continue laughing at your jokes, star in a movie right beside you, and even keep laughing at your jokes. Great read sir, and quite inspiring. Good luck!
