Happy birthday, Ash!

the theater before Moulin Rouge started. On the left, a windmill with white lights covering it. The stage curtain has a large heart in the middle and a large neon sign of 'Moulin Rouge' suspended in front of it. On the right, an elephant statue in blue lighting. Bright red lighting on the whole stage.

Moulin Rouge is one of my favorite movies and the musical was so good! I loved how they included newer (and some older) songs in the mashups to keep it fresh. Great performances all around and the set was spectacular. I highly recommend it if you get a chance to see it! Give the cast recording a listen, too.

Had a great time seeing it last weekend with Joe and Kelly.

Add support for bookmarks with h-cite

Initially I tried submitting this bookmark using u-bookmark-of h-cite, but IndieNews did not pick up the name of the post from the h-cite.

IndieNews appears to require a p-name or e-content property, so I ended up using a bit of a hack: u-bookmark-of p-name.

Bookmark posts with anchors break permalinks

When submitting a bookmark post with an anchor (example) the submission is successful but the IndieNews permalink fails, returning 404 (https://news.indieweb.org/en/indiebookclub.biz/updates#post-2022-11-14)

I imagine the fragment should be converted to a unique slug for use in the IndieNews permalinks, like updates-post-2022-11-14.

To toot, or not to toot, that is the question.

New IndieAuth Client PHP Release

Version 1.1.6 of the IndieAuth Client library for PHP is released! This update adds support for IndieAuth Server Metadata and additional endpoint discovery methods as part of the 2022-02-12 version of the IndieAuth specification. It is backwards compatible with sites that do not yet support the metadata endpoint.

I will be updating indiebookclub in the next few days to use this version. In my testing with it so far, everything has worked smoothly. I look forward to other IndieAuth implementations updating as well.

Friday night concert at home: Justice’s, IRIS: A Space Opera. Amazing light show so far and a good pick-me-up after a blah week. Warning: lots of strobing lights.

Biden needs to appoint someone who understands and will say “Wear a respirator indoors” in response to RESPIRATORY viruses. This is just ridiculous.

I’m several years behind, but I finally finished The Adventure Zone: Balance. Great story. Definitely hit the feels at the end.

Small things I enjoy: every week or two, someone rides a motorcycle through my neighborhood blasting Cher’s “Believe.”

Add img srcset parsing

Parse img.srcset per parsing issue #7. MicroMicro now supports this, so once we have 2+ implementations and rough consensus, we can update the parsing specification.
