I came across a COVID-conscious group that has a weekly Zoom hangout Friday evenings. They’re apparently pushing 100 attendees and use breakouts for topics from just fun hangouts to the more serious. I appreciate that in the rules they have “no minimizing.” I might check it out soon.

I usually tend to take selfies right after getting a haircut. I realized I hadn’t posted my face on here in a while, so here you go.

Looking good, sir! And hard to go wrong with green.

There are a few options for sending and receiving Webmentions on static sites: indieweb.org/static_site.

I don’t have experience with those, but the indieweb chat has a helpful community if you have questions: indieweb.org/discuss

For blog posts, the typical convention when federating is to show the title of the post and link to the original. Bridgy Fed does that automatically for me. It reads the microformats in my posts to differentiate article and note posts and builds the Mastodon post.

Edit: I added a second screenshot on the wiki of what articles look like: indieweb.org/Bridgy_Fed#gRegor_Morrill

I use the indieweb service Bridgy Fed to federate some select posts from my website (like this one!) to the fediverse. If you click on the permalink for this post, it should take you to the original on my site.

It’s a pretty cool service and builds on some common indieweb building blocks my site already supported, like Webmention.

After following on Instagram and seeing clips for a while, I started listening to The Man Enough Podcast today. The first episode with Karamo Brown was pretty good. At one point he said “a broken crayon can still color,” which is a good reminder in those moments when we feel broken.

Yep, definitely room for improvement on that. I mentioned it in the #microformats chat. Feel free to stop by with any questions or ideas. We're on IRC but also bridged to Slack and Matrix: microformats.org/wiki/irc

That should work. The microformats1 hReview property details specified "fixed decimal point (one decimal point of precision)," which should carry over for backward compatibility: https://microformats.org/wiki/hreview#Property_details

Reposted Julius:

When Trump talked about stopping testing to stop cases going up in April 2020 he was laughed at. But now Biden is doing þe same and it's "smart to move on from the pandemic".

Goodness, I loathe working through software with a committee. Sure, we locked in the lengthy list of prompts and the layout months ago, but let’s make some last minute changes.

Some wins today:

I made myself go out when I really wasn’t feeling like it. I got brunch by myself on the patio at The Mission.

While out, I decided to get my car washed. I also replaced the wipers and got my oil topped off.

Small things, but it feels good. Felt good to get some sunshine, too.

Feeling pretty hopeless today. Some days I feel pretty confident all the best days in life are behind me.

COVID transmission is still high around the US and we need masks to protect our most vulnerable in healthcare settings. Help us protect those who need it most by telling your governor to #KeepMasksInHealthcare:

Welcome back! It is a good feeling.

“It depends when the anarchist convention is”

Me: “Isn’t the anarchist convention whenever you want it to be?”

US: please take a moment to tell our elected representatives to maintain healthcare coverage. We need robust public health infrastructure.

From The People’s CDC (PCDC):

“Three years into the COVID-19 pandemic, we need you to treat the pandemic like the ongoing public health emergency it is. We need you to embrace a comprehensive approach to public health based on layers of protection and public policies aimed at protecting the most vulnerable people among us.”
