Totally fair. I do realize I am privileged to not be as dependent on it as some people. And trust me, I've thought about doing it for y-e-a-r-s but kept getting sucked back in, haha. Part of my thought process in October was: I would rather be spending my usual FB time time making stuff that might help others get off FB too.

I’m attending (remote) IndieWebCamp SF 2020!

It's not on Netflix or Prime unfortunately, but I highly recommend Nativity!. Worth a rent if you find it in Redbox. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_lLpFYdKj8

I’m good at a lot of fun stuff. Making gingerbread houses is not something I’m good at. Also ... apparently taking clear pictures of gingerbread houses. I give up.

Me too.

Was it always of any 'value'?

No, but it encouraged creation and expression and for everyone to have 'a home on the net' or 'a monument of their own' with no specific rules.

Now the ecosystem for that is so... different.

The #indieweb community is recapturing that spirit, I think! Check out https://indieweb.org and come say hi in chat: https://indieweb.org/discuss

What a horny dance

Green Bean Casserole

  • 1 can (18 oz) creamy mushroom soup
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • Dash ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons plain bread crumbs
  • 3 cans (14.5 oz each) cut green beans, drained
  • 1 can (2.8 oz) French-fried onions

Heat oven to 350°F. In un-greased 1 1/2-quart casserole, mix soup, soy sauce, pepper, bread crumbs, green beans and 2/3 cup of the onions.

Bake about 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Stir; sprinkle with remaining onions.

Bake about 10 minutes longer or until onions are golden brown.

I came across https://swapi.co/ today. If you need to test reading from an API without authentication and like Star Wars, you're in luck!

If carbs are wrong, I don’t want to be right! :) Sounds great, I’ll have to try it.
