Hey Reese, I didn't write this in response to your post, but it's relevant so I'm sharing here (link below). In short, I think you should feel confident in voting third-party if you can support the candidate in good conscience, and not get caught up in arguments of "defensive voting" or the probability of a third-party candidate winning. I welcome your thoughts on it.

@joeld I am still pretty pro-databases, but mostly due to knowledge and momentum. I think the maintenance of static HTML over time is much less time-intensive than the DBA tax, though. And less brittle. I guess it depends on the needs and how frequently one changes publishing platforms.
